First 3D Textured Botanical Painting – A Botanical Experiment

This textured botanical painting is the artist’s (Ala Botnarescu) first work created using 3D paste, an experimental approach that adds rich relief and depth to the surface. Made with mixed media on canvas, it showcases subtle textures that interact beautifully with light and shadow.

At the center, a flower inspired by the elegant Morning Glory blooms with trumpet-shaped grace. Surrounding it are two delicate dandelion flowers, capturing both the full blossoms and drifting seed heads, as if gently floating through a spring meadow.

Hovering above the garden scene is a fantastical pollinator creature resembling a small flying lizard carrying an umbrella-like wing, adding a surreal narrative element to the composition.

Gold foil accents catch the light and highlight delicate botanical details, enhancing the tactile surface created by the 3D paste.

Unlike typical canvases, this painting is unframed but mounted on a canvas with thick 3.5 cm edges, allowing it to be displayed beautifully without a frame. A built-in hanging device makes it easy to hang on the wall.
