For me, the art I create springs from two contrasting emotions: darkness and light.
There are moments in life when overwhelming darkness gathers within us—situations beyond our control that wound and drain our vital energy. These intolerable experiences push us to seek change, whether in our circumstances or in our attitudes toward people and events. When patience runs out, we search for answers, enlightenment, and spiritual growth.
My darker works emerge from this struggle. Fueled by anger, physical tension, or emotional overload, I release these feelings onto canvas, paper—often through intricate gel-pen graphics or through bold, abstract paintings in oil and acrylic.
On the other hand, my brighter pieces are born of inspiration drawn from nature, the tranquility of a quiet walk, and the mindful awareness of the present moment. This lighter side of my practice includes creations in resin mixed with natural elements, celebrating calm and clarity.
Epilogue
That was my story about how emotions guide my creation. But what about you? When you create art, are you more often driven by positive or negative emotions?
