During a vacation in Madeira in May, I brought back hand-collected limpet shells (lapas), now crafted into unique handmade jewelry. Each shell is smoothed, enhanced with a sparkling zirconia stone symbolizing mental clarity, focus, and intention, and sealed with resin for lasting shine and durability. The adjustable cord is color-matched to the central stone, creating a balanced, harmonious design inspired by the ocean, nature, and the volcanic landscapes of Madeira. Inspired by my wild strawberry bead earrings with real forest strawberries preserved inside glass, I expanded the concept into larger handmade pendants made from real cultivated strawberry slices, carefully dried and preserved in crystal-clear resin with a sterling silver chain for lasting shine and durability.
