Solo Exhibition at Weiler Town Hall – “Emotions as Inspiration”.

Weiler (erb). Starting in January, a new art exhibition will take place in the stairwell of the town hall. The Moldovan-born artist, graphic designer, and web designer Ala Botnarescu will exhibit some of her artworks there. Her abstract works combine psychological themes with natural elements.

The artist, who lives in Scheidegg, has been a member of the Oberstaufen Artists’ Circle since 2022. Her passion for drawing developed at a young age, and during her studies, she fell in love with the world of graphic art.

Her artistic works are created using different techniques and a variety of materials. For her abstract paintings, she uses acrylic and oil paints, while her graphics employ gel pens. Her unique resin compositions include natural elements. In this process, emotions serve as her source of inspiration.

A significant achievement for her was winning the main prize, the “Staufner Art Prize,” at this year’s group exhibition of the Oberstaufen Artists’ Circle.

Art lovers are invited to visit Botnarescu in her studio gallery at Kirchplatz 3 in Scheidegg. There, she works on her projects and presents them to interested audiences.

Her works can be viewed during the general opening hours of the town hall.

Winner of the Staufner Art Exhibition Search Competition Determined.

Artist Ala Botnarescu and the winner, Mrs. Maintz from KönigswinterMany art enthusiasts took part in the popular search competition during the 22nd Staufner Art Exhibition, where visitors had to match photo snippets to the artworks on display. The hunt for these picture fragments encouraged an intensive viewing of the works and a long stay at the exhibition. Among the numerous participants, Mrs. Maintz from Königswinter was eventually identified as the winner. Due to the distance, a personal handover was not possible, so the painting found its new place with the happy winner via postal delivery. The artwork was donated by Ala Botnareascu, last year’s art prize winner. Ala is an artist and graphic designer whose works combine abstract styles with psychological themes and natural elements. Since summer 2024, Ala has been welcoming art lovers to her studio gallery in the centre of Scheidegg.
